- Pilot | Driven Dragons Volleyball Academy
Pilot Division (scroll below to register) Driven Dragons Club Season Pilot Division The Pilot Division is designed exclusively for new volleyball players or those new to club volleyball. It is open only to athletes in the 14 and under age divisions, meaning participants must be born on or after July 1, 2011. This team primarily consists of girls aged 12 to 14 (6th through 8th grade). Unlike our competitive teams, the Pilot Division requires no tryouts —athletes can simply register and be assigned to a team. The Pilot Teams offer a gentle introduction to the club season on a smaller scale, focusing on learning rather than intense competition. The season runs December thru end of January. Practices are held once a week for 2 hours, typically on late Thursday afternoons or Sunday evenings, with one tournament scheduled for late January. Then an end of season Hibachi Style Celebration. The club also observes a winter break, closing between Christmas and New Year’s. Tuition covers coaching fees, practice facility costs, and the tournament entry fee. However, it does not include the uniform fee, spectator fees for parents at the tournament (typically $10 per person), team-building event fees (usually 2 events per season, under $60 each), or the AAU membership fee ($30). Athletes who join a Pilot Team remain eligible to try out for our more competitive teams if interested. To be considered for these teams, they must register for tryouts separately. If selected for a competitive team, such as our Regional or National divisions, you’ll only need to pay the difference between the Pilot Team tuition and the higher-tier team tuition. Please note that we have a strict no-refund policy , so please commit only if you’re certain of participating for the full season. [Our System TeamSnap, does offer a tuition insurance option on checkout, which we highly recommend.] Many athletes have started in the Pilot Division and progressed to our competitive teams, including Amethyst and even Sapphire (Regional Division Teams)! The Pilot season is an affordable and welcoming way to explore club volleyball on a smaller scale. For those seeking greater challenges, we also offer Regional and National Divisions. The Regional Division is competitive, while the National Division represents our highest level, with opportunities to compete in prestigious national tournaments like AAU Nationals in Orlando, FL. To be considered for our competitive teams, register for tryouts below or to skip tryouts and sample a mini club season, click the Pilot Team registration . Pilot Team Skip Tryouts and Join a Team:

- ParentPledge | Driven Dragons Volleyball Academy
Parent-Pledge I commit, Open PDF Pledge Our organization is committed to the principles of the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) . Therefore, we ask that you read, sign, and return this form to your child’s coach or any appropriate representative of our organization. In keeping with PCA’s ideal of the Double-Goal Coach® – who has a goal of winning and an even the more-important goal of teaching life lessons through sports – I will be a Second-Goal Parent® , focused on the goal of using sports to teach life lessons , while leaving the goal of winning to players and coaches. I will reinforce the “ELM Tree of Mastery” with my child (E for Effort, L for Learning, M for bouncing back from Mistakes). Because I understand that a mastery approach will help my child succeed in sports and in life, I will: • encourage my child to exert maximum Effort • help my child Learn through sports • urge my child to get past Mistakes by using a Mistake Ritual, such as a flushing motion, to trigger a reminder to flush the mistake and move on to the next play. I will use positive encouragement to fill the Emotional Tanks of my children, their teammates, and coaches. I understand that, like the gas tank of a car, a full Emotional Tank can take people most anywhere. I will set an example for my child by Honoring the Game and respecting ROOTS (Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates, and Self). If I disagree with an official’s call, I will Honor the Game and be silent. I will use a Self-Control Routine to avoid losing my composure if I grow frustrated. I will take a deep breath, turn away from the game to refocus, count backwards from 100, or use self-talk (“I need to be a role model. I can rise above this.”) I will refrain from negative comments about my child’s coach in my child’s presence so that I do not negatively influence my child’s motivation and overall experience. I will be as prompt as possible dropping my child off and picking my child up from practices and games. I will engage in No-Directions Cheering, limiting my comments during the game to encouraging my child and other players (from both teams).
